Ooni Karu Pizza Oven Review
This is something I have been wanting to try for a while. In fact, since they did their first kickstarter so, being stuck at home with no prospect of holidays for a while, I decided what the heck and ordered an Ooni Karu pizza oven. I was debating between the Frya and the Karu but the concept of real wood as opposed to pellets, and being able to add gas later if I desired, finally won me over. I ordered…

Kevin’s Upgrade #1, Build Plate
Description The default build plate on a Creality CR-10S consists of a glass plate on top or the aluminium heat plate. This bed is notorious for not being level and also creating difficulty with bed adhesion. I had to concur with this when I received my CR-10S and one of the first upgrades I did was to replace it with a Lote glass tile from IKEA. These include a new controller board, new bowden tube and connectors, a new part cooling fan and a new build plate. These were all purchased from TH3D and are currently somewhere between Chicago and my house. As a result of these upgrades I am going to have to print a new cooling duct to fit the 5015 cooling fan hence the facelift…
More on Alice
Continuing on the Alice in Wonderland theme. This is the latest in the series I am printing for Wendy for the cat show. I am really impressed with this model. It may be hard to see from the photograph but this model has the most amazing eyes. They were built in three layers to give real depth. These prints have really challenged my 3D printer and, as a consequence, have lead me to tuning the hardware and software settings for…
Down the Rabbit Hole
This is what you do when you have a 3D printer and 10 days off work Every component is a separate filament colour. Lots of filament changes. It didn’t go totally without problems! I had to print the numbers about four times to get a complete set and develop a new profile for my printer for some of the smaller, tall components but after four days of printing and frustration It is finally done.
