He Is Learning Something!

He Is Learning Something!

I was having a discussion with David on the way to school this morning.  We were talking about how some of his friends call him Dave rather than David.  He was saying that some of them think it is spelt “Dav” when it should really be spelt “Dave”.  My comment was something about “remember the bossy e” to which i was informed it is not called a “bossy e” it is a “split diagraph”. David then explained to me about…

May Madness Month

May Madness Month

Well May is upon us again.  One month, Mothers Day, Two Birthdays it all happens at once. The planning for David’s party is going well.  Present is sorted even if he doesn’t know.  I wont be able to put comments like that on here much longer as he will probably start reading this one day. We are having his party at a local gokart and laser tag place so that should be a lot of fun.  David had a run…

Basketball and Illness

Basketball and Illness

We have just finished a “long” weekend.  Although it was only a two day weekend as normal it feels like it was much longer than that. It really started on Friday.  David had a ride to school day so I worked from home so that I could walk with him while he scootered to school in the morning.  Luckily the rain let up long enough for the trip to school. After school, when I picked him up, he wanted to…

Wow Two More Games Already

Wow Two More Games Already

I have been slack updating the Bulls status.  We have had another two weeks of play and the team is going from strength to strength.  It is hard to tell from their results as they have lost both games by large margins but they are starting to play as a team.  There is a lot more passing going on and you can see more thought in their play. Hopefully we can get a coaching session happening soon so we can…

Bulls are Getting Better

We had eight players for this game which meant the guys could have a break during the match.  I was worried beforehand about how and when I was going to rotate players but it turned out to be reasonably…

First Day of Basketball Today

First Day of Basketball Today

David has decided to try a new sport this year.  After trying the Aussie Hoops program over the Christmas break he really got into it and decided to join a team.  The guys running Aussie Hoops decided to create a new team with the kids from the Aussie Hoops group.  This new team is called the Cranbourne Bulls. The first training for the season was held last Saturday the 4th of Feb.  During the training we needed some parents to step up…

I Can Finally Edit the Site Remotely

I Can Finally Edit the Site Remotely

I have not been able to change the content on this site from work due to issues with the firewall at work not liking dynamic DNS.  I finally found the WordPress application for my Android tablet and it appears that our guest network at work has less stringent firewall rules than our staff network.  Go figure, but it does mean I can now edit content by using my tablet.

New Server – New Blog

New Server – New Blog

New year, new server (well upgraded old one), new CMS/Blog system. My old Pentium based server has been replaced with an Athalon based server with a lot more memory and disk. I have switched from Drupal to WordPress mainly for a change.
