Busy Weekend

Busy Weekend

Wow, we have just finished an incredibly busy weekend.  It is almost good to be at work to have a rest today. It all started off with an 8am start on Saturday morning.  I mean, other than for skiing who starts early on Saturday?  We were down at the new local ALDI at 8.30am (ok, we slept in) to start setting up for a barbeque for the day.  Wendy had the joyful task of organising a fundraising bbq for the…

New Car….

New Car….

Well, the Peugeot finally got on my nerves due to the air-con failing and summer being in excess of 30 degrees Celsius so I got off my butt and made a decision for a new car.  This is a case of buying with my head, not my heart.  I still think my new car, when it is delivered, only has half an engine at 1.2L and three cylinders.   This is the new Mitsubishi Mirage.

Telstra 4G – Faster than my ADSL

Telstra 4G – Faster than my ADSL

I recently got a Telstra 4G device to allow internet/email/intranet access to work when I am on my clients site.  This device is worth all of the hassles to get it set up.  The performance is far superior to my ADSL connection at home, at least when I am in a 4G zone.

PC – The Inside

PC – The Inside

This is the interior of the new machine I put together.  It is the first time I have had to deal with CPU coolers and I have to say the cooler on this system is huge, which means it runs about 20 degrees cooler than the stock cooler.  The case has hot swap bays and also screwless drive bays so plenty of room to expand.  Even with a modular power supply there is still a lot of cables to route,…

Cranbourne Bulls Break Their Losing Streak

Yesterday, despite playing the entire match one player down, the Cranbourne Bulls managed to end their current losing streak defeating the Berwick Thunder 2 team 9 – 4. The primary scorer for the Bulls was Gungeet with three baskets and a penalty shot. Second scorer was Anmal with a high pressure shot in the second half. The score was 5 – 4 at half time, and although the Thunder probed hard the Bulls managed to maintain a strong defence lead…

Now that I have a decent PC, I have started playing with Blender again.  Blender is a tool that allows you to create 3D objects and manipulate them.  This is the first video I have done based on one of the tutorials I found: [video-player]

New PC is Going Well

New PC is Going Well

Around the start of the school holidays I decided to build myself a new desktop PC as the current system I was using at home was getting a little long in the tooth.  I decided to have a bit of fun, as I haven’t done a jigsaw in a while, and assemble it myself.  The components I ended up with were: Thermaltake Level 10 GTS Snow Edition Case LG BH12LS38 Internal SATA 12x Blu-Ray Rewriter – 12x BD-R Read/Write, 16x…

Disney on Ice

Disney on Ice

Yesterday David and Wendy jumped on the train at the same time as me to go into the city for a fun day out.  Having company on the train made the boring commute into the city a little more interesting than normal although David ended up on his 3DS pretty quickly. In the city David and Wendy wandered off to the aquarium while I had the joy of going into work.  From all accounts they had a lot of fun…
