I guess this post is well overdue, as I graded to 7th Kyu Ho several weeks ago. So now I am a yellow belt with an orange tip and David is an Orange belt. Hopefully I will grade to orange early next month. David and my big focus at the moment is a tournament coming up this weekend. We are both entered in kata and kumite (sparring) and I think we are both getting more and more nervous the closer…
No photo on this one yet as I haven’t stolen one off Wendy but David had another successful grading on Sunday. He is now 7th Kyu (Orange belt), so he is two grades ahead of me. Well, until tomorrow night anyway when I should get my 7th Kyu Ho marking the halfway point to my 7th Kyu. David was a lot more nervous on Sunday than I expected him to be. We finally got there, registered and into the Dojo….
David started Karate late last year. Since I have been working at home a lot this year I found myself taking him to class on many occasions. After a month or so of this I got tired of watching the class from the back of the gym and decided to sign up and join in. By the time I joined David had already achieved his 8th Kyu (yellow belt). In the time since I started he has achieved his 7th…
But I finally got around to reviewing my pics from the Melbourne Garden Expo. Here is one of my favourite shots:
Well, the Berwick show is over for another year. Wendy (http://www.facebook.com/wendy.pearce.77/posts/552394071452320) did pretty well but I have to say that David (http://www.facebook.com/wendy.pearce.77/posts/552392824785778) took it away with two Best Exhibit ribbons. Well done to the pair of you. Maybe I will get off my butt and put in some photo’s next year.
David and I have been talking about this for a while and, due to the fact that he actually practiced during the Christmas holidays, David is now the proud owner of an SX Electric Guitar and Amp. It is a black Stratocaster (I think) replica. He took it to his lesson on Tuesday but his teacher did not have an amp setup in the music room so he couldn’t play it. They have agreed to alternate, one week acoustic one week electric and he…
I recently wrote this up for a Mirage owners site I found. I thought I would put the content here as well: Ok, some background and then my first impressions of my new LS CVT. I am coming from a Peugeot 206 Auto. The Peugeot was getting too expensive to maintain and most of my driving is from home to the train station so I wanted something small, economical and cheap to maintain. I also have a Mitsubishi Outlander 2.0L…
Wow, we have just finished an incredibly busy weekend. It is almost good to be at work to have a rest today. It all started off with an 8am start on Saturday morning. I mean, other than for skiing who starts early on Saturday? We were down at the new local ALDI at 8.30am (ok, we slept in) to start setting up for a barbeque for the day. Wendy had the joyful task of organising a fundraising bbq for the…
Well, the Peugeot finally got on my nerves due to the air-con failing and summer being in excess of 30 degrees Celsius so I got off my butt and made a decision for a new car. This is a case of buying with my head, not my heart. I still think my new car, when it is delivered, only has half an engine at 1.2L and three cylinders. This is the new Mitsubishi Mirage.
